- How are students selected?
Great Lakes gives importance to the overall performance of an individual rather than excellence in a single field. This ensures that the candidates will be able to withstand the rigor of an one year program. Great Lakes looks at the candidate’s past academic records, work experience, recommendations and essays for selection. Educational and Academic qualifications along with a good score in GMAT/CAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview will form

- Do you consider GMAT scores? What is the cut off for your institute? Is work experience really important? What type of qualifications do you expect from an aspirant?
We consider CAT or GMAT as one of the entry requirements. The institute does not prescribe any cut offs as such but the same will be decided on the basis of relative performance of candidates who have applied to the institute. Ideally, the aspirant is expected to have a brilliant academic record and at least a graduate degree in any field. Work experience of 2 years or more is highly desirable.

- What is the PGPM at Great Lakes like?
The full time management program in Great Lakes is conducted in a fast track accelerated mode. The duration of the course will be typically one academic year consisting of eight terms, each term consisting of not less than six weeks. A student must go through successive terms of course work and successfully complete all the terms. There will be a project component for a duration of 4 weeks in his/her domain of interest and also an empirical study to be done individually under a guide who will be an accomplished academician/ industrialist. Students will have intensive workload that is both exciting and fulfilling. The entire program is conceptualized to offer international value at an affordable cost.

AICTE approval process for this programme is in progress. Academically Great Lakes has a strategic alliance with Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology. The alliance ensures certification by both Great Lakes and IIT. Stuart is accredited in the US by ATGSB.

No, it is not necessary to fill the application at one go. You can enter the data for each section and save the details by clicking on the 'save' button at the bottom of each page. However, even if you forget to click the save button before going to the next section, a pop-up will appear requesting you to save the data.

No, the recommendation letter cannot be sent online. It has to be sent by post along with the other necessary documents to the Great Lakes address mentioned in our site. Please ensure that the application number is mentioned on the sealed envelope (the recommender should have signed across the pasted envelope flap).

- Does Great Lakes follow a phased selection process and if we apply earlier will our GD/PI be scheduled at an early date?
No, the admission process will be done in a single phase. The short listed candidates will be intimated within two weeks from then. The GD/PI will be conducted in select locations on different dates. So, the order in which the short-listed candidates will be called will vary based on their interview locations chosen earlier. But we encourage the applicants to submit the application ASAP once all the required materials are available.

- Is there a pre-fixed cut off for each section and also the overall test score?
No, there is no pre-fixed cut off. After receiving all the applications, normalization will be done based on the scores obtained by the candidates and thus a relative cut off is set to shortlist the candidates.
